What improvements or new features are included in the remastered version?  
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered has been updated with new HD graphics, refined controls, and a modernized game camera with the ability to toggle between the HD and original presentation any time. This new edition also boasts a photo mode, alternate character skins, a comprehensive lore reader, and unreleased content and 'lost levels' from the original game.

Do I need to own the original game to play Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered? 
No.

Is there an upgrade path or discount for owners of the original version? 
No.

Please note: Heart of Darkness bundle. Legacy of Kain Ascendance only playable on PlayStation 5 (not PlayStation 4) and Xbox Series X/S (not Xbox One).

Are there any regional restrictions? 
No.

Does Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered support 4K resolution or enhanced graphics settings? 
Yes, whenever each platform supports the feature, native 4K and high refresh rate are available. No other advanced graphics features are supported (no HDR, no Raytracing, no DLSS or frame generation).

What frame rates does Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered support? 
The game supports 60fps on all platforms, and higher refresh rates on platforms that support it.

Does the game support controllers and keyboard/mouse input on consoles? 
Controllers are supported on all console platforms, controllers and keyboard/mouse are supported on PC platforms.

Are there any gameplay or balance changes compared to the original release? 
HD graphics, refined controls, and a modernized game camera with the ability to toggle between the HD and original presentation any time. Combat, story, and game balance are unchanged from the original.

Are there any new modes, content, or bonus features included? 
This new edition also boasts a photo mode, alternate character skins, a comprehensive lore reader, and unreleased content and 'lost levels' from the original game. It also includes new local level maps, additional Arcane Tomes with never-before-seen concept art galleries, and a new training room to help players get familiar with the game’s combat mechanics.

Deluxe Edition includes 3 digital comic books and the “Dark Prophecy” demo.  This was a sequel to Legacy of Kain: Defiance which was never released. 

Does Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered support multiplayer or online features?  
No.
